FitzRoy is a charity for people with learning disabilities and autism. We transform the lives of 840 people every day, through the incredible work of over 1300 staff and 50 volunteers. Our priority is to provide quality support on a daily basis to those people across the country who really need us, enabling them to live the lives they choose. We like to think we punch above our weight in the care sector - and we do! We are also not shy in talking about it, just take a look at some of our campaigns such as Love4Life and Who Will Care When I am Gone?

I am really pleased that you have an interest in becoming our Chair - it is an inspiring organisation doing remarkable and valuable work.

This is an exciting time for FitzRoy and a challenging time for the sector as a whole. There are well known pressures on the charity sector as a whole as well as within the learning disability part of it. However, we are confident FitzRoy is well-placed not only to meet these challenges, but to thrive. We have a reputation for high-quality delivery and the sound financial footing required to move to the next phase of our development.

I have really enjoyed my time as a Trustee - it has been a wonderful experience and I have learned so much along the way as well as making many friends. I have been honoured to work with an extraordinary and committed group of trustees and staff. Together we have faced some significant challenges but achieved a great deal.

We are looking for our next Chair to lead and inspire our Board, Senior Management Team and FitzRoy as a whole. You will find the attributes we are looking for contained within the Role Description but this is a fantastic role, and it requires a very special person. I hope that person may be you.
