Foreword

Hello, and welcome to Lloyds Bank Foundation. We’re delighted to hear that you’re interested in joining our Board of Trustees - and at such an exciting moment too.

2018 saw the culmination of a four-year strategy which awarded £73 million worth of long-term grants and capacity-building support to 1,380 small and local charities. In addition, we launched innovative programmes and partnerships to influence policy and practice impacting the landscape in which small charities operate. It’s testament to the creativity and determination of our team that our work was honoured at the Charity Awards 2019. Emboldened, our work continues.

February 2020 marks the half-way point in our current five-year Reaching Further strategy. It also presents the opportunity for three new Trustees to join us - to broaden the experience of our Board and to welcome diverse and forward-thinking perspectives. We’re particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a background in welfare, mental health and charity management. Over the coming pages you’ll learn more about what this role entails. We hope it will inspire you to take up the challenge.

Being a Trustee is as much about harnessing what you do know as investigating what you don’t. It’s a deeply rewarding experience that promises not only to change the lives of our grantee’s service users, but yours as well.

Accompanied by your probity, creativity and enthusiasm, together we can make a significant impact on disadvantaged lives across England and Wales.

Baroness Rennie Fritchie DBE. Chair, Lloyds Bank Foundation
