Genomics England
Chief People Officer
Salary: Competitive

At Genomics England we turn science into healthcare using technology. With the consent of participants and the support of the public, we are creating a lasting legacy for patients, the NHS and the UK economy. Initially this was through the sequencing of 100,000 genomes. Now we’re moving toward a future of bringing the insights from deep genomic research to bear on the mainstream of healthcare. What we do is for everyone, free at the point of care via our partnership with the NHS.

To deliver on this mission, we’re changing a lot as an organisation. We’ve moved from functional teams to a model anchored on the services we provide to NHS colleagues and the research and biotech community. We now have multi-disciplinary product teams in support of those services. For a lot of people at Genomics England that’s a big shift from the past, and one they’re adapting to.

We are now looking for an inspiring and empathetic Chief People Officer to join our dynamic and ambitious leadership team. This is a critical role in our ongoing development, and you will be responsible for driving the people and engagement agenda as well as continuing to transform HR operations. As the successful candidate, you will also work closely with our Chief Executive to provide strategic and operational advice as well as expertise while leading and coaching a committed People team. As a motivating leader you will act as an ambassador who can engage, attract, and retain the very best people.

We need an individual who is passionate about our mission and embodies our virtues of speed, empathy, curiosity, integrity, focus, impact and connection. You will have proven success in shaping strategy and delivering business change as well as a strategic understanding of digital transformation in the context of improving customer journeys. We are keen to find someone with significant experience in leading cultural change including the ability to gain commitment, trust and support to deliver and build an inclusive and engaged community of colleagues. As the Chief People Officer you will also have strong strategic understanding of best practice across the full people cycle.

If you have the ability to inspire others and are looking for a role where you will be asked to challenge, bring fresh thinking, and get things done in a high energy way, we would love to hear from you.  You can find out more about this opportunity on the dedicated microsite -
