Age UK
Trustee & Chair of Strategic Finance Committee

London
12 days per year

Age UK is the country's leading charity dedicated to helping everyone make the most of later life. Too many older people feel they have no one to turn to for support. We provide companionship, advice, and support to those who need it most. We stand up and speak for all those who have reached later life and protect the long-term interests of future generations. We’re now looking for a new trustee. One who will also Chair our Strategic Finance Committee (SFC).

Our trustees are essential to our success as a charity. As a trustee, you'll set our direction and hold staff to account, making sure we're always doing the best we possibly can for older people in the UK. As Chair of the SFC you’ll play a critical part not only in the financial sustainability of the organisation, but also its future growth, direction, and impact. A naturally collaborative individual with experience of influencing decisions in pressurised environments, you’ll have the skill of asking strategically important, incisive questions and applying keen judgement on financial, commercial, corporate, and cultural issues. You’ll help Age UK be increasingly relevant and purposeful well into the future.

We'd love to hear from you if you possess the commercial and financial accounting skills to lead the SFC, whether you're an experienced trustee or have never been one. It’s just as important to us that you're passionate about creating a fair and equal society for older people and can embody our values - 'we are focused', 'we act together' and 'we are bold'. You will understand the role of a charity trustee and demonstrate the ability to contribute constructively to a high-quality, dynamic Board environment. You will have excellent inter-personal skills, demonstrate integrity, and have a track record of leading and developing inclusive teams.

We are keen to hear from individuals from a broad range of backgrounds and expertise and would encourage anyone who feels they can bring value to the Board to apply. If you would like to find out more about this opportunity, please visit our microsite: https://search.green-park.co.uk/ageuk/
