Successful track record of leading digital transformation across an organisation

Experienced digital strategist

Senior experience in the marketing and communications field

Evidence of successful management of high profile communications linked to reputational risk

Experienced in leading and developing a large staff team spanning different specialist areas

Experienced in developing and managing significant budgets

Experienced in setting, monitoring and reporting against key performance indicators

Experience of effective integrated communications planning and strategy


Experience of a large commercial environment and developing strong commercial and other partnerships

Well-developed interpersonal skills with a positive approach to collaboration and relationship-building

Cutting edge knowledge of the digital and technology landscape, with the right networks to capitalise on opportunities to use technology to the full

High level knowledge of all aspects of the communications mix, including digital, marketing and PR


Educated to degree level, or equivalent standard

Other requirements:

  • Commitment to working outside of normal office hours at weekends and to travel/work away from home
  • Takes accountability for own actions and the actions of the Directorate in the delivery of objectives
  • Understanding of disability issues or willingness to develop this
  • Commitment to working within the principles of equal opportunities
