It is my pleasure to introduce you to Volunteering Matters, the UK’s largest charity dedicated to volunteering. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to participate in the life of their community and we support them to do this through our volunteering projects and programmes. We like to feel we make a real difference and are delighted that our Grandmentors programme was recently recognised at the National Mentoring Awards where we won the Third Sector category.

This is a rare opportunity for someone with energy and imagination to lead a major charity to the next stage of its evolution and to contribute to the development of volunteering on the national stage. You will provide leadership to the charity as it continues its transformation to become a viable, modern and fit-for-purpose charity which has a robust financial base and delivers for its range of beneficiaries.

Every year we engage more than 23,000 volunteers and 100,000 beneficiaries through more than 100 active programmes across the UK. We focus on the needs of four distinct communities; young people, disabled people, families and older people. Our projects enable young care leavers to achieve their full potential, they support disabled people to play a full part in their communities, they provide a much needed extra pair of hands to vulnerable families, and they are a lifeline for the older and isolated in our society.

We are an organisation that lives and breathes our values - inclusion, honesty and transparency, collaboration, innovation and ambition. We are hugely ambitious for the charity, for our volunteers, beneficiaries and for our staff team.

If this sounds like the kind of organisation you would like to join, I would welcome your application and look forward to meeting you.
